The Government has today announced the following increases to the National Minimum Wage with effect from October 2015:
Standard Adult Rate | For workers aged 21+ | £6.70/hour (+20p / 3%) |
Development Rate | For workers aged 18-20 | £5.30/hour (+17p / 3%) |
Young Workers Rate | For workers aged 16-17 | £3.87/hour (+8p / 2%) |
Apprenticeship Rate | £3.30/hour (+57p / 21%) | |
Accommodation offset | £5.35/day (+27p / 5%) |
The increases are in line with the recommendations of the independent Low Pay Commission with the exception of the Apprenticeship Rate which has been increased by 21% rather than the recommended 3%.
