I graduated from the University of Manchester with an LLB degree in English Law and French Law and qualified as a solicitor in 2010.  Initially, I worked in the City of London and then the West End as a commercial property lawyer.  However, a secondment to Network Rail’s Litigation Team (including Employment) cemented my desire to become an employment lawyer.  I now specialise in Employment Law and joined the Backhouse team in January 2025.

I have over 15 years’ experience acting on behalf of clients from various industries and have a strong sense of commercial acumen.  I enjoy working with both employees and employers in the ever-evolving employment law landscape to provide tailored and up-to-date legal advice. Being tied up in employment law matters can be a stressful time and I strive to put client service and client experience at the forefront of my work, providing reassuring and assertive advice.

I am excited to work with clients on employment contracts, grievance, disciplinary and redundancy procedures, unfair dismissal and potential discrimination claims.  I also have a very keen interest in negotiating exit packages and advising on settlement agreements.

Outside of the office, I can be found spending time with my two young children, and I enjoy walking in Epping Forest, cooking for friends and family, reading historical non-fiction novels and wild swimming.

I am also a Governor of a local primary school.
