In October 2017, we outlined the proposed right for recently bereaved parents to take two weeks of Parental Bereavement Leave following the loss of a child under 18. The Parental Bereavement (Leave and Pay) Act 2018 has just received Royal Assent and the law is now expected to come into force in April 2020.
The Government will in due course publish supporting Regulations outlining the detail of the new law, including how much will be payable during the new leave period.
